GUIDELINES FOR AUTHOR
The Eastern Journal of Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences (EJPAS) is a monthly research journal. It publishes original research, reviews, case reports, and short communications in the pharma, medical, and biological sciences. EJPAS allows free unlimited access to abstract and full-text. The journal aims for rapid publication. It offers online tracking of research articles and email/SMS alerts. Manuscripts are accepted for review if they are not published or under consideration elsewhere. All authors and the institution where the work was done must

SUBMISSION OF THE MANUSCRIPT
All submissions must be in English and should be submitted by the online submission system. Each manuscript will be provided with a manuscript ID and all correspondence is done through e-mail. Please always refer to the manuscript ID for any further enquiries. Authors may suggest up to three potential reviewers. Please include their contact details, especially their email addresses. If there are problems with the online submission, please email your manuscripts to editor.ejpas@gmail.com or editor@ejpas.com. Include a cover letter, preferably from the corresponding author.
MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
RESEARCH ARTICLE FORMAT
The preferred format of all manuscripts are in MS office (2003 or above). Manuscript shouldbe concisely typewritten in 1.5 spaces in A4 sized sheets. The pages shall be numbers consequently.Only on one side, with a 1″ margin on all sides. The manuscript shall be prepared in Times New Roman using a font size of 12 and title shall be font size of 14, bold space capitals. All section titles in the manuscript must be in font size 12, bold, capital letters. Subtitles in each section must be in font size 12, bold, lower-case letters. Illustrations (Figures & Tables) must be inserted at appropriate place in the article. Standard International Units should be used throughout the text. Pages should be numbered properly. There shall not be decorative borders anywhere in the text, including the title page. The manuscript should start with the title page. The text should be arranged in this order:
- Title Page
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements
- References
Title Page
The title should be as short as possible on the first page and provide precise information about the contents. The title should be followed by full names of author (s), affiliations of author (s) and institutional addresses.
Authors and Co-Authors Details and Their Affiliations
Each author must provide their full name including their forenames and surname. The Corresponding Author of the manuscript must be marked with an asterisk*, and should be listed first. In addition the corresponding author must include Telephone and E-mail address at the bottom left corner of the title page. If any co-authors are from different organizations, include their addresses. Use numbers after their names to indicate them. Maximum 6 authors should be allowed.
Abstract
Provide on a separate page an abstract of not more than 150-250 words. A concise and factual abstract is required. The Abstract must be informative and self-explanatory. It should briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, and indicate significant data. It must also point out major findings and conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, use standard nomenclature. Avoid abbreviations and references.
Keywords
Provide three to six appropriate keywords after the abstract.
Materials and Methods
It should be complete enough to allow experiments to be reproduced. Describe all procedures in detail. Cite published ones. Briefly mention any important modifications to them. Capitalize trade names and include the manufacturer’s name and address. Subheadings should be used. Methods in general use need not be described in detail.
Results
Results and their significance should be clear and concise. Use self-explanatory graphs and tables if possible.
Discussion
It should critically review the results, comparing them with relevant literature. You can combine Results and Discussion.
Conclusions
It should clearly state the research’s main conclusions. It should explain their importance and relevance. Summary illustrations may be included.
Acknowledgement
Acknowledgements should be placed in a separate section after the conclusion. If the study has external funding, mention it under a new “Funding” header, after the acknowledgements.
References
The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the bibliographic information. It must be numbered in the order they are cited in the text. Use superscript with square brackets after the punctuation marks. ([X])A list should be included on separate 1.5 spaced pages at the end of the text. For the proper abbreviations of the journal titles, refer to “Chemical Abstracts”. The style and punctuation of the references should confirm to the following examples:

Tables
These should be numbered with Arabic numerals. Each table should be typed using a table format (i.e., each variable must be typed into a separate cell in the table). The title should be typed at the top of the table in the sentence case format, i.e., only the first name should be in capital letters; as appropriate. Any footnote should be typed at the bottom of the table in italic.

Illustrations and Figures
Figures must be numbered independently of tables, multimedia, and 3D models and cited as the relevant point in the manuscript text, e.g. “Fig. 1”, “Fig. All figures, including photographs, should be numbered in Arabic numerals in the order they appear in the text. They should have a brief title in lower-case, bold letters below the figure. Do not duplicate data by presenting it both in the text and in a figure. For any figure taken from published materials, you must have the publisher’s written permission to reprint it. A copy of that permission release must be submitted with your article.
REVIEW ARTICLES
Review articles must not exceed 25 pages. They should cover the relevant literature comprehensively. Preferably, scientists with deep knowledge of the topic should write review articles. All format requirements are similar to those applicable to Research papers. Review articles need not include sections like Materials and methods, and Results and discussion. But, they must have an abstract and an introduction.
SHORT COMMUNICATIONS
The research and technical communications section (max 3,000 words) is open to interesting results. They are worthy of publication without extensive introduction and discussion. Organise this section as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, and Results and discussion (combined). Not more than 10 references should be provided. Tables, figures and references are to be arranged in the same way as for research papers. Brevity of presentation is essential for this section.
Note: Figures and tables should be included at appropriate place in the manuscript.
Chemical Terminology:
The chemical nomenclature used must be in accordance with that used in the Chemical Abstracts .
Biological Nomenclature:
Names of plants, animals and bacteria should be in italics.
Enzyme Nomenclature:
The trivial names recommended by the IUPAC-IUB Commission should be used. If a paper is mainly about an enzyme, state its code number and systematic name in its first citation.
Symbols and Abbreviations:
Use only standard abbreviations. The use of non-standard abbreviations can be extremely confusing to readers. Avoid abbreviations in the title. An abbreviation’s full term should precede its first use, unless it’s a standard unit of measurement.
ETHICAL MATTERS
Authors must get approval from the relevant Institutional Animal Ethics Committee for their research using experimental animals and humans. This is per the “Principles of Laboratory Animal Care.”” The materials and methods section should include a statement. It must prove that the investigation was approved and that informed consent was obtained.
PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE
The EJPAS Journal upholds the highest standards of publication ethics. It takes all possible measures against publication malpractices. All authors submitting original articles to the EJPAS journal attest that their works are their own. They have not copied or plagiarized them, in whole or in part, from other works. The authors acknowledge they have disclosed all conflicts of interest with their work, and any benefits from it. Similarly, the EJPAS journal is committed to fair, objective, double-blind peer review of submitted works. It aims to prevent conflicts of interest between the editorial and review staff and the reviewed material. Any departuresAny breaches of the above rules should be reported to the Editors-in-Chief. They are committed to quickly resolving such issues.
AUTHORSHIP
A manuscript will be considered for the publication based on the below understanding:
- All named authors should agree to its submission
- It is not currently being considered for the publication by another journal
- If the paper is accepted, it will not be subsequently published in the same or similar form in any language without the consent of publishers Any changes to the author list after submission, viz., a change in the order of the authors, deletion or addition of the authors needs to be approved by a signed letter from each author.
COPYRIGHT
Submitting the manuscript means it has not been published before and is not under consideration elsewhere. Authors would be required to sign a Copy Right Transfer Agreement Form once the manuscript is accepted.
GALLEY PROOFS
Unless indicated otherwise, galley proofs are sent to the address given for correspondence. The corresponding author must ensure the prompt return of the galley proofs.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used only for the stated purposes of this journal. They will not be shared with anyone else or used for any other purpose.

Review Procedure
The Eastern Journal of Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences (EJPAS) is a peer-reviewed journal. It publishes good science that benefits the whole scientific community. Peer review is key to scientific publishing. It confirms the reported science.
The editorial office will evaluate a new manuscript. They will check that it is authentic and complete. It must be ethically approved, original, and innovative. It must be correctly formatted and significant to the field. It must also be within the Journal’s scope, written in the style of a scientific article, and in English. If article has problems with any of the above criteria may be rejected.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Once an article manuscript is deemed suitable by the Editor(s)-in-Chief we follow the double-blind peer review process.
In Double blind review process neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities.
Reviewers get criteria for their evaluation. They must comment to the author, if any. They may also give feedback to the Editor’s office, confidentially.
Reviewers evaluate a manuscript for its:
- Originality and significance of contribution
- Methodology, analysis, and comprehension
- Interest to the research community
- International relevance
Once all reviews have been received, the Editor(s)-in-Chief, make reviews available to the author(s) and the comments to the author(s) of the manuscript.
If the manuscript is accepted, then the author will be provided with the formatting guidelines for final submission.
If the manuscript needs major revisions, the author must:
- Follow the reviewers’ comments.
- Use the resubmission formatting guidelines.
If the manuscript is rejected, then the process ends.
Publication Ethics
The Eastern Journal of Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences (EJPAS) is a peer-reviewed, international research journal. It is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. To give our readers a high-quality journal, we state our principles of Publication Ethics and Malpractice. All articles not meeting these standards will be removed if malpractice is found at any time, even after publication. EJPAS is checking all papers in a peer review process.
Duties of Editors
Editor must ensure a fair double-blind peer-review of the submitted articles for publication. They will work to prevent any conflict of interest between the author and the editorial and review staff. Editors will keep all info about submitted manuscripts confidential before publishing. Editor-in-Chief will coordinate the work of the editors.

Duties of Authors
Reporting standards: Reports of original research must be accurate and objective. Authors should detail the work done and discuss its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention: Authors must provide the raw data related to a paper for editorial review. They should, if possible, provide public access to this data. They must also retain it for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism: The authors must ensure their work is entirely original. If they used others’ work or words, they must cite or quote it.
Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication: An author should not publish manuscripts in more than one journal if they describe the same research. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is unethical and unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper: Only those who significantly contributed to the study should be authors. This includes their work in the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If others have participated in some parts of the research, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure that all and only the right co-authors are on the paper. All co-authors must have seen and approved the final version and agreed to submit it for publication.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: If the work involves unusual hazards, the author must identify them in the manuscript. This includes chemicals, procedures, or equipment. If the study involves humans or animals, the author must submit the ethical committee’s permission details with the manuscript.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other conflicts of interest. These could affect the results or interpretation of their work. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Fundamental errors in published works: When an author finds a major error in their published work, they must notify the journal editor or publisher. They must also cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
